The story.

MELISSA
NO AÏSHA
OR NO STILL
MELISSA (+14)

Melissa, or no, Aïsha, or no, still Melissa, is someone who has doubts about everything, but especially about herself. She has no idea who she is and what to do with her life. Completely lost, lost, off track.

Melissa, enfinitely, Aïsha lies all her life together. Nothing about it is real. Or is there? Because what is real?
What is the truth?
Who determines the truth?
How do we know for sure?
And is Melissa's truth the same as Aïsha's truth?

In MELISSA NO AÏSHA OR NO STILL MELISSA, The Mannschaft explores the social engineering of truth, how everyone has their own version of reality.
About not wanting or being able to see the truth.
About doubt.
Or rather the lack of being allowed to doubt.
About believing in something even though it may not be entirely true.
A performance about the creation of the lie.

After the successful productions LIV, DETHLEFF and JOHN&JANE, De Mannschaft is making a new production for young people.
Again with the same concept: a nice solid theme brought with lots of humor and a language that is booming for young people or anyone who has ever been young.

We swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God! The truth is what ye believe.

Additional
information.

The Mannschaft is the common, creative denominator of Stijn Van de Wiel and Michai Geyzen. Both Kempen sons have been friends for years and their paths in theater have crossed several times. Their shared fascination with the social edge and the abyss greatly fueled the need to start a company. As creators and as human beings, they are fascinated by individuals who ended up at the edge of society or beyond. Individuals who were disowned, who chose to sit on this edge themselves or do so because they think they should.

The fact that De Mannschaft takes its name from the call sign of the German soccer team is not purely coincidental. The Germans stand for commitment, fighting spirit, team spirit, order, structure, structure, structure and structure. It is almost a machine. A machine that we question. How far can order and structure be pushed before people drop out, are put on the reserve bench, with the only option of toiling from morning to night in the hope of one day regaining a starting place, becoming an indispensable and recognized part of this machine, of our society?
